There Are Times When Israel Policy is Just Incomprehensible.

Palestinian Lawyer

This seems to be the case with a young woman from the Gaza Strip.

Fatma Sharif is a 29-year-old Palestinian lawyer. She applied to attend Bir Zeit University in the Occupied West Bank. Her goal is to obtain a masters degree.

The government of Israel banned her from leaving Gaza, on the grounds that she might be intending to set up a new terrorist cell in the Occupied Territory.

Israeli journalist Amira Hass reports frequently on Palestinian affairs for Israel’s largest daily newspaper Ha’Aretz.

She tells the strange tale of this young Palestinian lawyer and her encounter with the Hall of Mirrors that is the Government of Israel.  Click here for the full story.

  1. Mike Smith says:

    Jim:
If you go back to the historical maps that you referred to in your last article (see http://www.ifamericansknew.org/history/maps.html) you will see that the Gaza strip was connected to the West Bank in 1947 as per the UN boundaries.

Here we have Israel illegally annexing land for themselves then creating rules for the Palestinians to cross it.

Libby Davies was right. It is the longest occupation in history.

  2. Jim says:

She was indeed…absolutely right…I was reading a commentary by Shir Hever an Israeli economist who agrees that the Occupation began in 1948. However, he says it’s much worse than “Occupation” it is Ethnic Cleansing and that’s a war crime.
