The Beautiful Game, again

Hmmm, perhaps I missed something as I don’t know L/A’s motives for taking the pictures.
Was it the beauty of the women in emotional expectation? or the depictment of excitement pertaining to the “beautiful game”? Because I was quite involved in Sports all my life and toured the U.S. and Western Canada playing fastball as a left handed windmill chucker, we had lots of men in the bleachers just as excited cheering us on and biting their nails as well. We have excellent women’s soccer in Canada as well. Maybe I just missed the point. Not unusual for me.

What’s the point, you ask?
Well.
I didn’t even consider posting any of my pictures of crazy and belligerent Euromen being fire-hosed and arrested by riot-police.
Nor of tragic flag-draped fathers and sons on their knees petitioning Heaven (unsuccessfully) during the Italian penalty shoot-out. Not at the game mind you, but in front of a television-set somewhere in Italy, or Toronto for all I know.
Not anywhere near as wistful and lovely as the ones I posted of Euro women.
Marshal McLuhan and Margaret Mead would have loved the imagery. They were right in their insights all along, and far ahead of their time.
My post idea evolved from having absolutely no success finding images of even slightly older women at Euro2008, my own amateur socio-anthropological investigation.
Tons of gorgeous Euro-babes though.
Sexist? Yup.
Is it going to change? Nope.
THAT is the guy thing.
Remember, my post ended with an all-important question-mark, as befits anything on Reed Writes.

women can be “guys” too!
