Let’s face it, they don’t know their place……..
Ratings for Oprah Winfrey are down, one reported cause is her public support of Barack Obama. Seems she has alienated a large chunk of white females in the age-group for her show, those in their middle years.
Like the ones in West Virginia who turned out in droves for HR Clinton but would tear up their Democrat-cards if Obama wins the nomination.
Racists.
Seems there are certain things black people are allowed to do in USA but being significant politically is not one of them. Oprah can mobilise help, healing and counselling on a historic scale but that’s far enough, sister-child.
Obama, you got to the Senate. Good, makes us look inclusive to the rest of the world. So lay low and enjoy the perks. Who said anything about you running for president?
Who do you think you are?
What’s the thought-stream behind this? Are African-Americans seen to be inadequate for such roles? Or seen as just getting too big for their britches?
This double standard showed up also in the recent pillorying of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s former pastor. I wouldn’t carry a banner for him anytime soon but there was surely food for thought in some of his comments.
But nowhere in media was it pointed out that for decades, numerous Bible-thumper white preachers like Falwell and Robertson have made themselves very wealthy and powerful by spewing out similar rhetoric to be reinforced by their secular pimps like Limbaugh, Coulter and Hannity.
Wasn’t it Pat Robertson wh identified hurricane-victims as deserving their misery because they were ungodly?
Isn’t that incitement to hate?
Finally, Bill Clinton recognised Wright as a significant political influence when it suited him…. just before his disgusting Presidential behaviour was exposed.

Hmmmm…I’m sorry to hear that Oprah’s ratings are declining…it may not be because of her support for Obama though…it may just be the result of a certain jealousy of her success. (I wouldn’t know of course, as i don’t possess a TV).
I think it’s premature to think that the majority of Americans are letting their acculturated racism show. It’s irritating I guess… but we really do have to wait for the convention and of course the actual election.
I wish America would put a 45-day limit on prersidential campaigning…it’s gotten so out of hand.
As forClinton – I take issue with the suggestion that his presidential behaviour was disgusting…my reading of his terms in office is quite positive. His brief fling with Monica did not have much impact on American voting patterns…perhaps because most Americans are having flings. As for me, I think that flings can be healthy.
My daughter-in-law chastises my sometimes cynical comments regarding the Big O Church of throw them some money, give them cake if their hungry club. I’ve been reading about a decline in her big machine since the “Million little Pieces” fiasco, followed by the sex stuff at her Paradise school for African girls, followed by her support of so called “New Age” “Spirituality”. Big to do from lot’s of Christians condeming her to hell. Very hateful these Evangelicals can be and they are huge. To me it’s all about the money to be made, and clever marketing, no matter who’s gig it is. I also did not find Clinton’s behaviour during his years as President to be disgusting, not even his little “fling” as I beleive a great many Presidents imbibed of “flings” to lessen the stress. I do find it disgusting that his ego could not stay out of Hillary’s attempt and that probably hurt her a lot more than her own phony rhetoric. It’s always interesting though and I’m always completely hooked on the “show”. Nobody does it better. I also would find it disgusting for the American People to put John McCain in there after the hypocrisy, arrogance, and incompetance of Bush et al.
I really enjoy this site and I hope you will keep writing on it, L/A

First, my attempt was to capture the ominous racism pervading this campaign.
Second, regarding Clinton-Lewinski… this wasn’t a fling.
Would you have the same view if it was a male senior editor, medical director or high-school principal getting multiple blowjobs while at work from a very junior female subordinate?
Surely you don’t think there were no strings (ejaculate on dresses included) attached?
If it isn’t disgusting… what is it?
And these comments don’t even touch what, other than arrogant high-risk eeehah! was going on in his heads. This man with the red button on his desk appears to be a nymphomaniac-narcissistic psychopath. Loose screws, stripped gears, detachment from any reality beyond his dick.
Disclaimer: I’m a shit-disturber, not a psychiatrist.
The real whammy to me is that he perceives himself a credible booster for the wifey’s ambitions.
My endpiece is the suck-and-come doesn’t matter, it goes on all the time, you are correct.
It’s getting caught that matters.
She was 21. Old enough to be a schemer. I think the tables were turned on Clinton…and while i think he ought to have resisted the temptaion Buddha-style – my feel is the poor sod was entrapped.
(Anyway – sorry – but it’s not my fault).
Point well taken L/A. I think we can all agree that it was the biggest mistake Bubba made. There’s probably a few more we didn’t find out about.
I don’t feel he was entrapped though Jim, and there isn’t any excuse for his stupidity to think he could wade into Hillary’s agenda without looking like the self centered egomaniac he is.
Many have ruined their lives following their dicks around, though, and you both know there’s a million stories in the naked city as Jack Webb used to say.
OKAYYYYYYY…he should have kept his mouth shut and stayed out of it. But why didn’t she order him not to. And also, why didn’t she divorce him at his nadir? She didn’t, because she already had presidential aspirations and thought that “toughing it out” would make her a heroine. Clearly, she was mistaken. In my book it makes her a mini margy thatcherite without the accent.
Am I being too flippant…? Possibly. If so – I beg forgiveness.
