President Obama has been without a pastor or a home church ever since he cut his ties to the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. in the heat of the presidential campaign. But he has quietly cultivated a handful of evangelical pastors for private prayer sessions on the telephone and for discussions on the role of religion in politics.

I introduced a “concept of scale” to your post.
Surely worth more than this response which yo no comprende anyway.
Perhaps the normally crystal-clear streams of thought at RW are clouded with drywall-dust.

I wasn’t sure what it meant myself…i guess i meant that evangelism by phone puts at least some distance between religion and government.
There’s no place for religion in government policy making.
That’s my view, however clouded it might be by “dust”.
Perhaps my vision is currently being affected by something else.

What about Pope “Pitbull” Benedict saying there’s no place for a muslim Turkey in a Christian EEC?
Obama is a secular leader gently touching on religion. Benedict is a religious icon blasting his way into politics where he should have no place.
Do you really think religion has no role in politics?
