There’s an interesting post on Blue Gal’s Blog this morning about the demographic dilemma confronting Israel. She talks about the threat posed by “Palestinian Octomoms” to the Israeli State.
It’s a real threat that has not been acknowledged by Israeli lobbyists in the United States, which includes men like Joseph Lieberman and Charles Schumer.
Her post causes one to think about the Israel Lobby in America and reminded me of something I wrote ages ago called “It’s The Lobby Stupid”, which I wrote because so many people were asking me why the U.S. never criticised Israel.
If there was any doubt as to who is running America with respect to Middle East policy, it was dispelled this week by AIPAC’s unseemly interference in a high level appointment by Dennis Blair, the U.S. Director of national intelligence. Admiral Blair wanted to appoint Charles Freeman to a senior intelligence post.
The problem: Freeman has been critical of Israel in the past and was unacceptable to AIPAC.
Schumer, Lieberman and others lobbied the White House and Congress against the appointment and Freeman was forced to withdraw.
Freeman has suggested that Israel’s own policies are driving that country to the edge of a cliff for a fatal fall.
Perhaps the next step will be the surreptitious introduction of birth control substances into aid packages destined for Gaza and The West Bank.
No American civilian administration is capable of withstanding AIPAC’s influence. So it seems that American foreign policy will continue to be controlled by them for the foreseeable future.
Those that do know about AIPAC’s undue influence either don’t care or are scared to say anthing. AIPAC uses many methods to squelch voices of reason and compassion that are or may be construed as critical of Israel’s behaviour. When it comes to blind support for a cause, they are unparalled.
I believe it’s open-eyed support, rather than “blind”.
Not only US intelligence, the Israel lobby runs the PMO and official opposition in Canada.
I saw that dreadful little man Ignatieff call George Galloway a fool last night.
I also saw Jason Kenney declare what a threat Galloway is to Canadian security.
Neither of these is remotely true. Galloway is more of a democrat and has more backbone than the entire Canadian Parliament combined.
He would eat Ignatieff and Kenny alive in debate, that’s why these fools are hiding behind their desks and in Kenney’s case, leaving his phone off the hook.
Cowards.
What George Galloway is NOT is a mouthpiece for Zionist paranoia.
For accuracy: Ignatieff said “clown”, not fool.
If denied access to Canada, Galloway will stand at the US border “within sight” of the Canadian free-speech caravan on the other side.
What a circus act! This guy is brilliant as long as he has Canadian idiots like Kenney and Ignatieff building his platforms at taxpayers expense.
