Time For All Of Them To Start Talking: America Iran Hezbollah Israel Canada Hamas Britain etc etc etc
The best news on the Middle East in the past few days, is Britain ‘s decision to reach out to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
High Time.
Finally the U.K. sees the writing on the wall and Prime Minister Brown has decided to ditch Bush and get real. Here’s how a British spokesman put it-
“Our objective with Hezbollah remains to encourage them to move away from violence and play a constructive, democratic and peaceful role in Lebanese politics, in line with a range of UN Security Council Resolutions.”
What a concept: encourage them to move away from violence and play a constructive, democratic and peaceful role in Lebanese politics.
Now lets see if Obama will follow suit.
In the meantime, Canada could get out in front of the pack by having talks with Hamas.
America has already invited Iran to talk about Afghanistan.
Wow!
Pretty soon the Taliban will be talking with everyone. And who knows? Maybe Peace will break out.
